DIY, Templates & Hiring

What's the difference between a web designer and what you do?

A designer typically starts from your copy and makes it look good. I start from your offer and decide what the copy should be, then direct the design around that argument. It's not better craft, it's a different starting point: the page as persuasion rather than the page as artifact.

Next moves

  1. If the offer is simple and proven, a template plus sharp copy is genuinely fine.
  2. If the page carries real revenue, buy the thinking, not the layout.
  3. Whoever builds it should be able to explain why each section exists.

If you're deciding between doing it yourself and hiring, say so on the call. Sometimes DIY is the right answer.
