Headlines & First Screen

Should my headline be clever or clear?

Clear, then clever if there's room. Clever headlines work when the audience already knows you, because recognition does the heavy lifting. On cold traffic they cost you the three seconds you needed. The best lines are clear first and get their personality from specificity rather than wordplay.

Next moves

  1. Lead with their problem or their outcome, never with your company name.
  2. Kill adjectives that any competitor could also claim.
  3. Test the squint test: at a glance, is the offer legible without reading?

Send me your first screen. I'll rewrite the hook on the call so you can hear the difference immediately.
