Headlines & First Screen

What makes a headline actually work?

It names a tension the reader already feels and promises a specific end to it. That's the whole job. Clever is optional and usually a tax on comprehension. If a stranger cannot tell what you do and who it's for from the headline alone, it isn't working no matter how good it sounds.

Next moves

  1. Lead with their problem or their outcome, never with your company name.
  2. Kill adjectives that any competitor could also claim.
  3. Test the squint test: at a glance, is the offer legible without reading?

Send me your first screen. I'll rewrite the hook on the call so you can hear the difference immediately.
