Video & Media

Do I need a video on my landing page?

No, and plenty of high-performing pages have none. Video helps when it does a job text can't do faster, like showing a product in motion or putting a face to a high-trust service. It hurts when it becomes a gate. The page must make full sense without it.

Next moves

  1. Make the page complete without the video. Treat video as a bonus, not a gate.
  2. Keep it short and lead with the payoff, not the backstory.
  3. Never autoplay with sound. It costs more trust than it earns attention.

If you're deciding whether you need video at all, bring it up. Often the answer is no, and that saves you money.
