My page looks like a template. How do I fix that?
Templates announce themselves through defaults: stock photography, centered everything, the same three-column feature row, and typography nobody chose. Change the type, use real photography of real things, and break the grid once on purpose. Ownable beats polished, and one distinctive element does more than a full redesign.
Next moves
- Fix hierarchy before aesthetics. What should the eye hit first, second, third?
- Cut visual noise competing with the call to action.
- Make it look expensive by removing things, not adding them.
